Last Saturday, we loaded up the minivan and drove about 4.5 hours to the coast to spend a few days with JoPop and GloMom at their timeshare at Hilton Head Island. Lyle and Anne came, too! In spite of speculation that we would be dodging Hurricane Gustav, we had lovely weather for beachgoing. The best part about this beach was that in the morning, we had great tide pools. These were perfect for teh kids to play in without having to brave the waves. Ella loved building sandcastles, and Easton is definitely our water boy. Ocean, pool, bathtub, whatever ... that kid is happy in water. (I bet his PaPa Lewis would say that's the Florida blood in him!)
When not at the beach, we played inside. Ella roped GloMom into a lot of PlayDoh, and Easton just practiced his walking skills all over the place. Both kids relished the attention from grandparents and Uncle Lyle and Annie.
