Summer officially ends here in the Northeast next weekend, and cooler weather will quickly follow the close of the Labor Day holiday weekend. (Time to dust off the snow boots and ice scrapers!) A favorite activity this summer has been visiting the Country Drive-In, an outdoor snack bar that has been in business for 38 years. They have great food and even better ice cream, and unfortunately for our bathroom scale, it is about 5 minutes up the road from our house. We went there tonight for dinner and ice cream one last time before they close up shop until next Memorial Day weekend. I started out holding Ella's cone for her, but she really wanted to "do it myself," so we we just let her at it. I think the pictures will explain the rest!

How absolutely adorable. You go, girl. Doing it yourself is always better. Tell Mommy and Daddy that it can always be washed off and the fun is so much better the messier you get. Love, Pa-Pa
