For the 4th, we decided to venture to an event at a local park. To be honest, we had very low expectations. Our kids go to bed around 7:30, and that is when this event began. We knew it would late and crowded, so we anticipated weeping, screaming, and gnashing of teeth ... and from the kids, too. :) We were pleasantly, surprised, however, and they did great. We rode a little train, played on the playground, and then headed to the amphitheater for the Greenville Symphony (including the 1812 Overture complete with cannon fire) and fireworks. We ate funnel cake and chatted with people seated nearby. Ella took pictures with our camera (hence my extreme closeup). As you will see below, Easton got a little overtired, but even that was okay. The fireworks were a little loud, but everyone kept it together, and when they were over, Ella said, "More fireplace-works." We dumped them in bed around 11:00 pm, and they slept until 7:30! (Yes -- that is sleeping in at our house.)
