In June, Ella's best friend, Maddy, and her mommy, Angela (a very good friend of mine, in fact) came all the way from Albany to visit us. It was such a sweet and WILD time with our girls. Since we left New York three months ago, the girls have exvhanged photos over email and talked on the phone a couple of times (as much as 2 year olds do, anyway), but we were afraid they might not remember each other. We had nothing to worry about. They spotted each other in the airport and ran for each other squealing and giggling. They were immediately holding hands and dragging each other all over baggage claim.
We spent the next few days having a grand time! We visited the zoo, our neighborhood pool, had a backyard bath in our inflatable pool (long story, and yes ... VERY redneck!), jumped on beds, played toys, went to music and story time at the library ... and perhaps the biggest hit were the GIANT lollipops Angela brought for the girls. They were a sticky mess, but it was really fun and a great photo op.
We were sad to see them go. Even more sad is that Maddy took home a very special souvenier ... a nasty stomach virus. But I hear she has recovered, and we are already planning a trip to see them in NY in the fall.
Angela took better pictures than I did, but I am having trouble getting a good resolution from hers on the blog. I'll have Evan try a little later! For now, enjoy these photos!
