Zoo Camp

Today was Zoo Camp morning for Miss Ella. Nana and Easton joined us and walked around the zoo while Ella and I attended camp. We started out in a classroom with different "stations. " We got to touch penguin feathers and polar bear fur ... not attached to the animals. We sorted some animals bones and dug for ocean critters in a little pool.

Then our teacher talked to us about three different animals that we got to see up close and personal. The leopard gecko was very neat (my favorite), the bird (species already forgotten) was Ella's favorite, and the snake ... well, Ella thought it was pretty cool, and I managed not to wet my pants.

We then got a behind the scenes look at and zookeeper talk about lemurs! (No touching the lemurs, though. Razor sharp teeth and all ...)

The morning finished up with a craft and snack. Ella had a great time, and it really was very informative and interesting ...

Thanks to Nana and Easton for braving the heat to hang out at the zoo and wait on us!

What a great learning experience combined with a lot of fun. Ella is just a little charmer.
